HAVE YOU SEEN HER? The search continued tonight for a 9-year-old bearded collie from Upper Saddle River named Madison after several sightings in and around Woodcliff Lake.
Madison, who’s been missing since Friday, is white, black and gray, about 50 pounds and in perfectly good health.
But beware: Although one of five well-trained champion dogs owned by John and Leslie Cosares, “she’s the only one of the group who’s skittish, even at home,” their daughter, Justine, told CLIFFVIEW PILOT tonight.
“If she doesn’t know you, she’ll run,” she said. “So please don’t chase her.”
The Cosareses were about to board Madison with a nearby veterinarian before heading to a trade show in Las Vegas when she bolted.
Since then, their daughter has been posting fliers and contacting police and fire departments and animal shelters and hospitals. Meanwhile, a groundswell of Facebook support continued to expand — friends and strangers alike have been posting fliers at vets and elsewhere while sharing online links and tips.
One idea that Justine Cosares was considering was taking one of her parents’ other beardies out and around.
“It’s like a needle in a haystack right now, so it’s worth a try,” she said tonight. “We’re hoping someone can find her.”
