SHOUT OUTS: Two Hillsdale police officers who secured their department’s first Narcan save were commended last night for saving the 19-year-old woman, who was overdosing on heroin.
Officers Ryan Norton and Mike Camporeale responded around 10 p.m. April 15 with Sgt. John Carty and turned the victim over to the Hillsdale Ambulance Corps. after reviving her with the nalaxone, Police Chief Robert Francaviglia said.
She was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, he said.
“Thanks to the officers training they were quickly able to identify this as an overdose and were able to administer the Narcan, saving this resident’s life,” the chief said.
