SHOUT OUTS: Three Fair Lawn auxiliary police officers were promoted this week to top positions — including the unit’s first woman to rise to the rank of lieutenant — while a new officer was sworn in.
New Lt. Michelle Luscombe, 31, of Elmwood Park (below), will be a platoon commander in charge of recruitment and field training. She has been with the agency nine years.
Steven Milnes, 25, of Fair Lawn, became captain after serving for seven years. Milnes is also a member of the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad. He will become the administrative division commander, overseeing court, community policing and recruitment, FLAP said.
Howard Schlesinger, 59 of Fair Lawn, was promoted to sergeant. Having served for eight years, he will be a platoon supervisor in community policing.
Daniel Carrone of Elmwood Park was officially sworn as the auxiliary’s newest officer, having completed his training at the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Institute in Mahwah.
